The Almanac is a locally owned Gastro Pub, where pub fare meets French food!
With so many local vendors and markets available to us, we are happy to utilize their products as much as we can to give you the freshest product possible.
Our bar offers a variety of wine, craft beers and cocktails, sure to please every palate. Like our food, we like to showcase quality ingredients and deliver a well executed drink.
We believe that quality food, a great drink and some good music are key to a pleasant outing.
FRONT OF HOUSE
Alysha Couture grew up in rural Saskatchewan. Growing up she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends using the fresh ingredients from her family’s farm. She began working in the culinary industry at the age of 14, working for the family owned restaurant in her hometown. She moved to Edmonton after graduating from high school to earn a diploma in culinary arts from the NAIT culinary program. She spent the next 3 years working at a French café in central Edmonton and earning her Red Seal Certificate as the head chef of the restaurant and catering company. She is now moving on to open a restaurant on Whyte Ave, The Almanac, as an owner and the executive chef.
Dominique has been working in Edmonton’s service industry for the last 9 years. Her love of food and hosting comes from years of watching her family host beautiful and delicious dinner parties. She has worked in a few different local establishments serving and event planning, which has given her the hospitality experience she desired to open The Almanac.
Over the last 10 years, Josh has had the opportunity to bartend in many of Edmonton’s fine dining restaurants. Josh loves a well balanced, classic drink, but also enjoys experimenting with a modern twist. Last year, Josh partnered with some local talent and opened Solstice Seasonal Cuisine, where he developed a bar program that changed seasonally. Josh is now excited for his new adventure, here, at The Almanac on whyte.
